Millennials are essential to the growth of the economic landscape today, but with so much confusion regarding their career preferences and competencies, which jobs best fit this generation?
According to a list compiled by CareerCast, these workers of the future are best suited for jobs of the future – jobs which are still in their infancy, and may not necessarily pay well currently, but have a high growth outlook.
These positions include advertising account executive, social media manager and data scientist.
The list of best jobs for Millennials was compiled by evaluating four critical aspects. These included environment, income, outlook and stress.
“To be sure, not every job that ranks as one of the best for Millennials is going to pay big bucks immediately, but the potential for upward mobility quickly is fair compensation for many,” the report stated.

“Advertising account executives just starting out can expect to earn somewhere around $37,000, U.S. News and World Report finds, but that figure almost doubles midway into the duration of one’s career.”
Indeed, the report found that hiring of Millennials in the advertising industry is up by 8%, and they now comprise 44% of the entire industry. The report stated they were a good fit for the industry, given their firsthand insight into generational trends.
“Finding creative ways to hire and retain the Millennial generation – the largest generation in the workforce – is essential for companies to succeed through the rest of this decade and beyond,” said Tony Lee, publisher, CareerCast.
“That’s especially true for companies looking to fill jobs in the STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) sector, where demand is outpacing supply.”
