Human Resources magazine is delighted to announce that accomplished HR leaders from Lenovo, Maersk, Pacific Basin, Schneider Electric and TalentCorp have joined the HR Excellence Awards 2015 jury.
The Awards recognise both organisations and individuals that stand out in various areas of HR strategy and execution including employee development, recruitment & retention, CSR practices and use of innovative HR technologies.
“The highly-respected HR Excellence Awards judges are critical in choosing the organisations that have proven their excellence in human capital strategy & execution,” said Aditi Sharma Kalra, regional editor of Human Resources magazine.
“The big names that will be included in this year’s list of winners can be regarded as the companies that truly understand people management.”
Here are some of the judges.
Karina Ki, Lenovo’s HR director for global account business, has held managerial roles at China Construction Bank, KPMG, Cathay Pacific Airways and The Dairy Farm Company.
A graduate of the University of Alberta, Ki joined Lenovo as senior manager of HR for Hong Kong, Taiwan & Korea and then became human resources director for the company’s worldwide finance.
Maersk’s global head of learning & organisation development, Peter Baker, has over 20 years of experience across Australia, NZ, Taiwan, Bulgaria, USA, Singapore and Denmark.
His expertise is in business partnering, change management, organisation design, talent management and leadership development. He has previously worked with Procter & Gamble and Shell.
PB Subbiah, director of HR & administration at Pacific Basin, started his career at Univan, a leading global ship management company, as head of safety and quality management and then became assistant to the chairman for one year.
When he joined Pacific Basin as project manager, he became responsible for all commercial, operational and corporate aspects of the company’s development.

Today, he is pursuing a masters’ degree in Consulting, Coaching and Change at INSEAD.
With over 20 years of experience, Anna Tan, country human resources director at Schneider Electric, possesses expertise in talent acquisition, talent management, employee relations, compensation & benefits, performance management, engagement and shared services.
Her resume shows the HR leadership roles she held at Fortune 500 MNCs, such as Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Campbells Soup, Guinness Anchor Berhad, RBC and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.
As an HR leader, she is skilled in designing the talent agenda and implementing a holistic approach embracing leadership, change management, coaching and talent management to boost performance.
Talent Corporation’s chief executive officer, Johan Mahmood Merican, holds a first class honours degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge and is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
Before joining TalentCorp, he worked as principal private secretary to the minister in the Prime Minister’s Department.
He has over 20 years of experience in policy development, corporate finance and accountancy in both the public and private sectors in Asia and the United Kingdom.
Some of the other companies represented on the HR Excellence Awards jury are Boral, Facebook, Kimberly-Clark, UMW Group, USG Siemens, and many more.
All judges, such as Zarina Piperdi, senior vice president of human resources at SIA Engineering, are director or vice president level HR professionals with regional responsibility.
