Mercer has appointed Billy Wong as managing director and Hong Kong business leader, effective September 2015.

He reports to Lisa Sun, managing director and partner, Asia Market for Mercer and will be responsible for driving growth across the company’s Hong Kong operations.

He joins Mercer from Sun Life Asia, where he was head of its China business, overseeing the company’s joint ventures and leading execution of its business transformation strategy.

Previously, he was CEO of Sun Life Trustee Company and vice president for institutional business at Sun Life Hong Kong.

Wong appointment coincided with the expansion of the company’s talent consulting capabilities with the appointment of Robert Li as talent consulting business leader.

With 25 years of financial services and corporate consulting experience, Li will focus on executive remuneration and board/committee advisory services, as well as compensation and benefits design.

He will report to Shai Ganu, Mercer’s market business leader – talent consulting, Asia region. Li was previously founder and partner at Pretium Partners Asia, a niche management consulting firm.
