AirAsia’s Yeoh Sai Yew has moved up the ranks, from the previous role as group head of rewards for AirAsia to become the head of the people department for AirAsiaX.
The new position is effective from January 1, 2016, and Yeoh continues to be based in Malaysia.
Speaking to Human Resources, he confirmed that he will manage the overall HR function for AirAsiaX in this position, and his current priority is to “re-look into staff productivity to ensure optimum output”.
He added that another agenda item is” “to map and maintain talent profile, especially for the top management”.
Commenting on the overall HR scenario in Malaysia, he explained competition for the most talent members of the workforce remains the key people challenge.
