In a bid to enhance its services, Workforce Singapore (WSG) has established collaborations and partnerships with various technology service providers, job portals and industry partners for the 500,000 visitors in Singapore who have accessed the portal for their job search and career needs to date.

On 4 January 2019 (Friday), WSG announced the following strategies that have been introduced as part of these efforts:

Using technology to strengthen the job matching process

Apart from incorporating AI on its online resource, MyCareersFuture.sg, WSG has been on the look-out for suitable technologies to further enhance the portal, including its skills-matching capabilities. For instance, it collaborated with local technology startup JobKred to pilot a skills-to-jobs matching system to help jobseekers identify the most suitable jobs based on their skills.

Further, WSG has also worked with local AI firm, JobTech, to identify more advanced skills-matching technology for individuals and analyse areas of job mismatches and missed matches in key growth sectors (including banking & finance, and infocomm & technology).

WSG has also engaged WCC to test-bed and provide “Applicant Ranking and Talent Recommendation” services for employers. The employer module is slated for launch in the first half of 2019 and more details will be announced at a later date.

Expanding job listings through collaborations with other job portals

WSG has inked a Memorandum of Understanding with global job site, Indeed, to display a selection of Indeed’s job posts on MyCareersFuture.sg, effective the first half of 2019. This will expand the current job listings from more than 23,000 jobs to more than 35,000 every month across 23 industries.

In line with that, the agency has also collaborated with Google, JobsCentral, Jooble and LinkedIn to provide jobseekers with the additional option of searching for jobs posted by employers on MyCareersFuture.sg via these platforms.

Building a one-stop career portal for Singaporeans

Jobseekers and employers alike will also have access to career guidance, industry insights and employment resources through MyCareersFuture.sg’s Career Toolkit on the portal.
